Sent Students for Christ

The nature of the ministry of evangelism is nothing but preaching the Good News of God. The aim is that people hear the gospel and respond in real time, by accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord. However, it should be understood that the acceptance of Christ for believers, need to be followed by a willingness to be willing for Christ sent into the world. As Christ came into the world not to be served but to serve. Christian students need to realize his calling to be a messenger of God to the world.

Understanding God's mission

The foundation of understanding about the mission has been revealed by God in His Word. There are some basic understanding that we need to understand.

1. The mission comes from God's own personality.

The Bible explains that God has a basic character in himself that does not change the outward-oriented (the mission). As the Bible says that God in His trinity is Spirit (John 4:24), light (1 John 1:5), and love (1 John 4:8-16). Jesus Christ also sent into the world to redeem sinful mankind. Similarly the Holy Spirit is present in the world within the framework of the implementation of the commissioning tasks. Thus, every person who has dipersekutukan with God, on him will be encouraged to become a messenger of God.

2. The Bible shows that the theme of the kingdom of God, became the center of God's plan to save sinners through the work of Jesus Christ.

The Old Testament emphasizes the hope for restoration of his people as the prophets who foretold the coming of the Kingdom of God. The arrival of the Kingdom of God in the New Testament was fulfilled by the coming of the Messiah. As the proclamation of Jesus, "His time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is near, repent and believe the gospel." (Mark 1:15) So, the coming of Jesus means the restoration of relations between man and God. Some modern theologians defines the mission with the understanding that varies. John Stott says that "the mission is God Himself sent His prophets, His Son, and His Spirit, in which Jesus became the center of God's mission." Practically, the church has a duty as salt and light of the world. Stephen Neill said that the mission is someone who goes to bring other people who have never heard the Gospel, in communion with God through Jesus Christ. Christians became a tool for evangelism. Meanwhile, according to Mc Donald Gravan, mission means any activity that has the world's primary goal is evangelism.

Divine Mandate As a cornerstone mission of God

Every believer carry double in his divine mandate, on the one hand, she assumed the construction of divine mandate, that is God-given mandate to make the world a better and peaceful place to live (Genesis 1:28, 2:15). On the other hand, he also assumed a divine mandate renewal, which is a mandate from God to witness the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, who has been designated as the only way for the forgiveness of sins and renewal of the human soul (Matthew 28:19-20). Both credentials are equally important and not mutually exclusive, although it is temporal and cultural mandate mandate's renewal of eternal value.

Understanding Dispatch Students

Christian students as an integral part of God's church needs to realize his vocation to carry out God's mission. He is a divine mandate bearers double: development and renewal in this world. At the time of a student, they are messengers of God at the college. However, they are prepared to be a messenger who is ready to be sent to the wider world, when they become alumni. Christian student and an alumnus of the Christian as a messenger of God, need to have scientific qualifications and sufficient faith, so as to carry out God's divine mandate.

1. Scientific qualifications.

Christian students and alumni of Christians called by God to become a scholar who can answer the needs of development. Responsibility for the study and profession should animate every Christian student and alumnus. With adequate scientific qualifications, Christian scholars will be more open to voice "prophetic voice", both on campus and in the broader context of life (Ipoleksosbud).

2. Qualifications faith.

God's Word clearly teaches: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge." (Proverbs 1:7 a) Scholars mature Christian in faith, will be able to fulfill the mission calls for Christ. They are not easily soluble in moral and social challenges faced on campus and in the wider world. Spiritual maturity will place Christian scholars to be faithful to its role as a messenger of Christ wherever he is. Christian scholars who qualified in faith and science, will meet the qualifications to become a messenger of Christ.

During college, Christian college students were sent to bring other students to Jesus. This approach is highly contextual and effective, compared with the preaching of the Gospel committed by other parties. This is because the other party has limitations as well as differences in the context at hand. Thus, beyond its function as a scientific institution, it is evident that the campus is to embody God's mission field. Dispatch Christian Students for evangelism does not end on campus. Christian students who later became an alumnus, must remain faithful to its role as a messenger of Christ to preach the Gospel wherever he was. An alumnus of the Christian mission should remain supportive services on campus, though in different ways. The inclusion of this can be done through the ministry of mentoring, training, funding, and other forms of other services, within the framework of the mission to preach the gospel of Christian students on campus. In addition to a Christian Alumnus student support services, outreach services will be increasingly widespread and growing, including family, church, workplace, social and cultural sphere.

1. Family

The Christian family is the core of development strategy of the church, often referred to as the small church. Students and alumnus Christian is called to prepare ourselves in building Christian families, missionary. Departing from the self, its realization starts from selecting a mate that faith even sepanggilan. Along with that, the preaching of the gospel is also directed to family members, relatives, and others who have not accepted Jesus.

2. Church

Commissioning service students are not separated from the church, even the church's mission should be a motivator. Students and alumni are responsible for developing the Christian mission in his church. Leadership students who had been building during the on-campus, expected to be the provision of service as an alumnus to advance the mission of the church service.

3. Professional Services

The impact of the mission of students on campus are expected later in the sector is also booming profession, in their status as an alumnus of the Christian. Effectively served the campus as the students themselves, as well as working effectively reach every sector of the Gospel through its alumni who work in the sector. To streamline the cross-cutting mission, the role of Christian fellowship alumnus needs sharpening.

4. Cross-Cultural Services

Deputation of students on campus during the expected impact in reaching out to all ethnic groups and cultures with the Gospel. In a small scale, the mission is accomplished with the ministry of the gospel on campus to students of various races and cultures that exist. A wider range will be achieved soon after they become alumni. They have been equipped to carry out missions in the scope of his own tribe, and to reach out to different tribes and cultures of other suitable placement work, both nationally and internationally.

The steps taken to prepare the delegates include:

1. Observation

Christian students at the data in various aspects, among others: the faculty which he passes, levels of study (university, college, or institute), semester, geographic origin, cultural background, geographic origin, and religion of the majority in the area of
origin. These data to be input in the recruitment, as well as in formulating the pattern and material preparation of a messenger who qualified and contextual.

2. Recruitment

Based on observations and data, then call them to be prepared to be ambassadors for Christ.

3. Training

These steps are tangible training that includes aspects of spirituality, theological knowledge, skills and provision of service as a messenger of Christ.

4. Mobilization

Christian students who have been trained are then mobilized to begin commissioning services on campus. Scope of service includes the sending of campus where students are and services across campus. Pioneering fellowship on college campuses should be developed, so evangelism from and to students at all campuses can be done there.
