Stress in Biblical Perspective

While we assume that the stress due to anxiety and worry is normal, Matthew 6:25-34 implying that God does not want people who believe in him live that lifestyle. Yes, He wants us to be the one to escape from stress due to anxiety and worry for several reasons.

1. Stress is seen as God did not keep promises
When we are stressed because we feel anxious and worried, then it implies that we assume that God did not keep his promise. How could I not, in Hebrews 13:5, God had promised, "Do not become slaves of money and be content yourself with what you have." God has said: "I will never leave you and I never will forsake you. " So if you still feel anxious, would not that mean we do not believe what He says through the Bible? Believe in what God say, then the stress due to anxiety and worry it will not color our days in the service and through life.

2. Stress is seen as not having a house of God
Stress definitely can cause disease, and ultimately the disease pollute and destroy our bodies. While it says in I Corinthians 6:19-20 that, "Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who dwells in you, whom you have received the Holy Spirit of God, - and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price has been paid paid: therefore glorify God in your body. "So, if we let the stress and illness that inhabit our bodies that is the house of God, would not that mean we do not maintain the house of God?

3. Stress is seen as a life without fellowship with God
John 15:4-5 says, "Abide in Me and I in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches. Barangsiapan remains in me and I in him, bears much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. " That is, without Christ we are nothing and can not do anything, because it is Christ who gives us strength for us to do things. He became the source of our strength. Stress, worry and anxiety makes us feel weak (can not do anything) and this should not happen if we are closely related to the essence (of Christ). "He gives strength to the weary and increases the spirit of the incomparable power" - Isaiah 40:29. Yes, communion with Christ, through prayer and personal quiet time, will give us new strength.
